We have 2 new jams made with Honey Strawberry and Red Raspberry rather than sugar.
 Starting this weekend we will feature a brand new flavor 
made with honey Blackberry Lime Jelly.  
We also have our own Honey Mustard that is made from scratch. 
Made with yellow mustard seed.
It has just enough honey flavor with a bite.  
We will have samples of all our new products.  
You won't want to see this.

Quarry Critters Alpaca Ranch 
These little guys have become a big hit.
You don't want to miss getting your very own needle felted alpaca
with or without a hat.
We also now offer summer weight alpaca socks.
Fresh raw fiber is available, as a result of some very happy alpacas.

Gettysburg Gardens
Gettysburg Gardens will have native azalea hybrids, 
assorted Heuchera and Tiarella for foliage and flower, 
and trees and shrubs, 
mostly native, selected for suitability in local gardens. 
 Possibly some Primula sieboldii 'Sakurasoh'.

Sheep-in-Hand Farm will have a large selection of Heirloom and Standard tomato plants, ready to be planted in your garden.  There will be beautiful hanging baskets for the porch, too.

      How to make great herbal iced tea:
                                                             8 -10 stems (1 bunch)of Dutch mint, 
                                                 Lemon balm,
                                                         peppermint or any other fresh herb, 
                                         washed
                                           1 qt. water
                                                      1/4 c - 1c. sugar - to your taste

1.   In a 2 quart sauce pan, bring the water to a boil. 
2. Remove from heat.
3. Add fresh herbs and stir. 
4. Allow to sit for at least 30 minutes - we let ours sit overnight . 
5. Remove the herbs.  
6. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.  
7. Add 1 quart of cold water or ice and serve.

Here is a recipe Mom is sure to love!

               Find Hollabaugh Brothers stand on Saturday to pick up
 this recipe and some fresh Asparagus!

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken
 Stuffed with Asparagus  
Ingredients: 
6 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1-1/2 lb.)
12   fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
1/2 cup KRAFT Finely Shredded Italian* Five Cheese Blend
1/4 cup  KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken

HEAT oven to 400ºF. MAKE cut in one long side of each chicken breast,
 being careful to not cut through to opposite side.
Fill pockets with asparagus and shredded cheese.
 PLACE on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray;
 top with Parmesan. BAKE 20 min. or until chicken is done (165°F).
Meanwhile, prepare stuffing as directed on package. Serve with chicken.

Elegant & Easy:
made with locally available spring vegetables
Asparagus with Ham and Pasta

1/2 lb cook ham, cubed
1 lb asparagus sliced into 1" pieces
3 spring onions sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed

Heat 2 Tbs. oil in 4 qt. sauce pan. 
 Add vegetables and meat. 
 Stir fry until the asparagus is tender-crisp. 
 Serve over angel hair pasta.
Top with  parmasan cheese, if desired.

Creamy and Zippy Spinach Dip

Ingredients:
-2 10-oz boxes frozen, chopped spinach
-3-5 cloves garlic, finely sliced
-8 ounces cream cheese
-1 medium onion, chopped
-3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
-3 Tablespoons butter
-Any 
Hot sauce to taste
 (we suggest Sultry, or tarnation and at least 4 tablespoons) 
-salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Thaw spinach, squeeze out excess water and reserve.  Over medium heat, melt oil and butter in a pan. Cook the onion and garlic in pan with oil and butter until onion is translucent, about 10 minutes. Add spinach, salt and pepper to taste, and #7 Sultry Sauce and mix.  Slowly add cream cheese to pan and stir until it looks creamy.

Optional:
You can replace the frozen spinach with 4 bags of fresh baby leaf spinach, if desired, but it will have a slightly different consistency.

First Friday at the Gettysburg Hotel

This Friday, Oct 5, 2012 
look for Gettysburg Gardens and John Barlett. 
He will be representing the Gettysburg Farmers Market at Gettysburg's First Fridays 5:00 until 8:00.
 He will be selling his beautiful plants. Check this out.

the market will return with some of your favorite vendors. 
Remember the market will open at 8:00AM now as it is still dark at 7:00.
